Ask James: What can I do to get myself on a healthy schedule?

Dear James,

What can I do to get myself on a healthy schedule?

-Slumped

Dear Slumped,

I think this is a question that everyone is asking themselves because of today’s climate. So here are some ways that we can get back to our somewhat normal healthy schedule.

Try planning out your day and getting things that you need and want to get done; try making some goals about what you want to accomplish that day. Then, if you don’t have the energy to wake up/get things done try doing something in the morning like having vitamins, coffee, or even a morning jog to get your body started.

Next, try to liven up your bedroom/work environment to help give you some energy. Also, remember to be healthy, like drinking plenty of water and eating at least 3 meals a day. To help yourself get into a better/healthier routine you need to get into a healthier mindset; try things like journaling, maybe clean up your room/living space, take some time for something active.

Also if you have a problem with getting to sleep try going to bed early and taking some melatonin(they can be pretty pricey so if you can’t afford them or are not allowed to take them; try doing things throughout the day to make yourself tired). But at the end of the day, it’s all about doing what you can and putting in the effort to make a change.
